Not only is she a goal-getter but she is also passionate about giving back to her community. Founder of Be Nice Productions LLC, Bernice Wooden is creating love and joy through innovative forms of entertainment. Producing and directing video content is her speciality but she also shoots photography and leads workshops in networking and video editing. As a full-service media production company that captivates and inspires clientele to expand their business and/or brand, her intention is to produce the visual appeal. Bernice was born and raised in the Red Hook Houses in South Brooklyn, New York and attended Brooklyn College where she received an MFA in Television Production.
What makes her the Women We Love this month is the fact that she is creating positive content that supports the community by working with many non profit organizations like, The Good Counsel, Fountain House, Action Aid and The American Diabetes Association to name a few. When asked about some of the challenges she faces Bernice replied, “I find it extremely hard to successfully run a business by myself so as soon as I was able, I started hiring staff and freelance employees who could help me grow. Not only was I able to reach a larger audience but I was able to manage more things with efficiency”. Bernice has found that another challenge she faces in this industry has been to go above and beyond proving herself as a female producer in an industry that is 90% male dominant. Since 2007, Bernice Wooden has produced video content for fortune 500 corporations such as Procter & Gamble, Visa, MTV Networks, Panasonic and GFK. One of her accolades is receiving the Spring 2013 Don Buchwald & Associates Grant, the Best Editor Award from Women Make Movies in 2013, and a Producer Award from the American Diabetes Association. Bernice host monthly networking events in which she teaches people the fundamentals of professional relationships as well as her techniques as an entrepreneur.
